Do you guys remember the Weeble’s? These fun toys from our childhood that wobble but do not fall down? Sure, most of them do not look like these and they look more like a tiny bean. Their mechanism put weight at the bottom of the toy. (I believe that this is a metal, something like a curved steel rate or a heavy metal disk.) This, along with their rounded hemisphere allows the egg-shaped toy not to always land upright when flipped. It also allows for the Weeble to wobble. These little toys were very fun to play with, so much that they became collectables. There were many people who tried to collect a certain set or even all the sets. I have been working on this for weeks and my attempts have made the amigurumi wobble, but it does not land upright. This was my first attempt, but it was unsuccessful. The weight at the bottom of the plushie was too little and this one did not wobble as much as I wanted it to. I want to make it so that I can crochet different bean characters and make them interactive.

I crocheted this egg and put about 163 grams of poly pellets in a stocking and tied it securely so to see if that weighed it down enough so that it always lands upright but this too was unsuccessful. The landing upright in the video was completely a lucky try. I am going to try to place the egg at the bottom of a bean shaped amigurumi to see if it will land upright but I am unsure that it will work because poly pellets moved and a stocking is not a sturdy material, but I am still going to try. I believe that there needs to be a way to contain the poly pellets in something more durable such as an easter egg. It could also be that the poly pellets are too light and my crocheted bean is a bit too tall for this to work. I am not sure I want to try anything metal (even if it is lead free) because metal does rust over time. Have any of you used metal to weigh down your plushies, if so please let me know if you like this. Although, my second attempt did not work, I might leave this as is for now because it is actually really fun to play with this and it helps with stress.
