Why do big companies insist on using generative AI?

Have you seen the recent Hobbii post on their use of AI?

Hobbii has come out and admitted that they use AI all the time and that they are very pro Ai. This post received an immense amount of backlash, and rightfully so. The fiber arts community is vastly against the use of artificial intelligence in creative spaces.

Our craft is a form of art, and it takes hours of dedication to do it. There is no amount of “transparency” from them to justify this.

I personally believe that there is a difference between generative AI and AI used for administrative purposes. Generative AI, especially the one that uses prompts to “create” art was trained on works of art that already existed.

In this video, I explain more of my thoughts on this post.
