My husband bought me this yarn that I had been wanting to try. The red heart all in one series came out with the sweethearts’ heart motif a little while ago. It is a very soft yarn, and I think it is a little thicker than the original all in one granny square yarn.
The label says that this is a medium #4 weight yarn and calls for a 5.5 hook. The colorway I am using in this video is called stone heart. This has different shades of grey, brown and green. It is a bit on the darker side and the colors work very well together.
The concept of this yarn is to be able to use one skein of yarn that changes color when you need it to. This way you only have to weave in the tails at the beginning and the end of one square. One skein of this sweethearts’ yarn should make 16 balls.
When I was trying out this yarn, I did start using the 5.5 hook, but when I was on the last stitch of the lump of the heart, the color changed. It would have to change a little after that stitch. I went down to a 4 mm hook to finish that part and back to the other one afterwards.
I did have to frog my work and start over again. This took me 36 tries but it does work. The most important thing for this to work is tension and tension is different for everyone. I do genuinely enjoy this type of yarn. There is much less yearn to weave in and that alone is great.

OVERALL, I THINK THIS DESERVES 4 OUT 5 YARN HEARTS! 🙂
